Active holidays in Mariapfarr

Varied summer holidays in Salzburg’s Lungau region

As the sunniest place in Austria, Mariapfarr offers not only the best conditions for hiking, riding or cycling - there are loads of other leisure activities that are great fun when the weather is good. And you’ll have plenty of sunshine hours to enjoy the leisure activities in Mariapfarr and in the Lungau holiday region!
However, if the weather is a little worse one day, we’ve prepared a number of rainy-day ideas for you.

The “Adventurous Three”

The Adventurous Three can also be used free of charge with your LungauCard. These are the Grosseck-Speiereck adventure mountain (1x ascent and descent), the historic Taurach railway (1 trip) and the Mauterndorf adventure castle (1x free admission).
Immerse yourself in the history of the Lungau region, which you can experience first-hand on a trip with the Taurach railway or on a visit to Mauterndorf Castle.
A fun, varied holiday programme for the whole family!
We especially recommend the annual medieval festival with jugglers, traders, musicians and encampments.

Situated around a large, natural swimming pond in the Outdoorparc Lungau, there are adventure stations such as the Flying Fox zip-line, high rope course, Teamtower, street football and basketball court, climbing pyramid and much more.
In the swimming pond itself, you can of course go swimming, but that’s not all it has to offer - canoeing, kayaking, rafting, stand-up paddling and zorbing are also on the programme.
